Box Score Event: Soccer - Hollins at Bridgewater (Bridgewater, VA)
The lead: For the fourth consecutive match, Hollins went on the road to face Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) competition. A trip to Bridgewater would complete the four match road swing in advance of Parent's Weekend.
The result: Bridgewater 8-0
How it happened: The Eagles came into their matchup with Hollins having, most recently, been upset by Randolph College, 2-1, on Saturday and wasted little time in jumping on their opponent. Bridgewater scored three goals in the game's first 15:00 of play. The Eagles took the opening possession of the second half and netted a goal in less than a minute. The game experienced a lengthy delay and as the match entered the final 20 minutes, darkness started to come over the field. Due to unplayable conditions, the referee called it a complete game at the 71:07 mark with Bridgewater earning the ODAC win.
Hollins notes:
- It marked Hollins fourth ODAC road match in the past 10 days
- Kendra Rich saved nine of the 17 shots on goal
- Hollins will honor her four seniors prior to Saturday's contest with Washington and Lee
Bridgewater notes:
- The Eagles are currently 3rd in the ODAC
- Alyssa Pearson earned her first win of the season in goal
- Cyan Coates and Bridget Fabiani each scored twice
What's next: Hollins will play host to the Generals on Satruday at 2:00pm. Before the game their will be a tailgate for Parent's Weekend and a pre-match ceremony to honor seniors: Mallory Jengo, Ciera Morris, Mira Ritola, and MacKenzie Roberts.
