The Lead: The Hollins cross country team was in action for the final time during the 2025 season when they made the short trip to Salem to compete in the 2025 NCAA South Region Championships. The Green and Gold looked to continue their momentum off a seventh-place finish at the ODAC Championship and a 2
nd place effort at Virginia Tech when they entered a field of 26 teams in the regional meet. Hollins finished 22
nd in the deepest regional field since 27 teams competed in 2022.
Highlights & Notes
- After breaking the Hollins record for the 4K last week in Blacksburg, Madison Freideman took aim at the 6K record of 25:03.2. The sophomore would have to settle for the 3rd best 6K mark in school history with a final time of 25:35.0.
- Senior Sylvia Guillet, running in her final cross-country meet, posted a time of 27:33.70.
- Elizabeth Lowry (28:13.80) and Evelyn Keefer (28:20.30) finished back-to-back and when Natalie Sullivan crossed the line (29:41.80) with her career best time, Hollins had secured the 22nd spot and once again bested her arch rivals from Sweet Briar. Marking the third consecutive meet that HU has bested the Vixens.
