The Basics
Event: 2026 Shenandoah Twilight – 5K
Location: Winchester, Va. / Kernstown Battlefield
The Lead: After earning a top five finish in Harrisonburg, the Hollins cross country team traveled to Winchester to compete with nine other teams at the Shenandoah Twilight. The 5K course was set up on the Kernstown Battlefield. Hollins finished 8
th in a field that was topped by NCAA D1 Virginia Military Institute (VMI). Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) foes Batten and Roanoke would round out the top three.
Highlights & Notes
- The Hollins contingent was led by first year Caroline Grinton who claimed 31st place points when she crossed the finish line in 24:24.9. Sophomore Elizabeth Lowry was next at 25:10.8.
- Natalie Sullivan brought home 44th place points with her time of 26:26.4 less than one minute ahead of teammate Sage Hall (27:12.9) with Alondra Reyes rounding out the five scoring times with an effort of 29:55.0.
- Del Cartwright finished the course with a time of 32:25.7 in her collegiate debut. Mallory Foster fished 56th at 39:19.2.

Up Next: Next week Hollins will join the best teams in the region when they make the trip to Earlysville to compete at the NCAA D3 South Region Preview. The event will be hosted by the University of Lynchburg over the course at Panorama Farms.
