Event: Volleyball - Regent at Hollins (Roanoke, VA)

The lead: The Hollins volleyball team looked to get back on track on Saturday when they hosted a tri-match with Regent and Ferrum. Hollins would bring a 5-3 mark into Saturday morning's opener against Regent University.

The result: Hollins 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-20)

How it happened: Hollins jumped on their visitors from Virginia Beach, but a Regent comeback made it close in the late stages of the first set. Hollins would rattle off seven straight points to pull away. The second set was close, 22-21, but Hollins would score three of the final four points to take a 2-0 advantage. The final set would see Hollins earn a four point advantage early and keep it throughout for the sweep, 3-0.

Hollins notes:

• Deja Hadden would control the net with a match high 15 kills
• Kenna Esquibel hade three service aces and 12 digs with Kiki Speights adding seven kills
• Setter Casey Mahan handed out a match high 28 assists and Hannah Piatak led with 17 digs
• Hollins enjoyed a 35-28 kill advantage and Hannah Arthur was responsible for Hollins three blocks

Regent notes:

• Haley Steep led the team with eight kills
• Sara Kessler had 12 assists and Makenzie Lambertson led the team in digs, 1o
• Regent posted 1:1 ratio with 28 kills and 28 attack errors
