Records: Hollins 6-16 / 2-10 ODAC | Eagles 21-2 / 10-0 ODAC

The Lead: After playing three of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's (ODAC) best teams least week, Hollins had one last conference road trip on the schedule. The Green and Gold made the trip north on Interstate 81 to face conference leading Bridgewater. The Eagles hit over .550 during a first set that allowed the top ranked home team to take a 1-0 advantage. The next two sets would be close, but Bridgewater would pull away late in each to take the match, 3-0.

Highlights
  • Hollins fell to the Eagles 11-25, 20-25, 23-25.
  • BC used a 7-0 run and won 12 of 14 points to cruise to an opening set win, 25-11.
  • Back-to-back kills by Cassidy Henderson gave Hollins an 18-17 edge. However, Bridgewater won eight of the final 10 points of the set for a 2-0 lead.
  • A Meredith Crawley service ace tied the score at 9-9 to start the third frame. The Eagles responded to take a five-point advantage. Hollins answered and cut it to 22-21 after kills by Abby Neel and Annabelle Kemper. Trailing 24-21, Henderson recorded her seventh kill and followed it up with an ace to get HU to within a single point. The home team used their 45th kill of the night to seal the win over the Green and Gold.
  • Henderson finished with seven kills while Bella Schultz added six and Neel finished with four. Laken Tingler and Evelyn Harris each handed out 10 assists.
  • Schultz and Henderson each finished with two service aces. Defensively Schultz led with nine digs and Henderson recorded two blocks.
Up Next: Hollins will play their 2026 volleyball finale on Saturday with a non-conference match against Warren Wilson. Hollins looks to complete a very successful, and somewhat historic, season when the host the Owls for an 11:00am start in the Main Gym.
