Event: Volleyball - Hollins at Wilson College (Chambersburg, PA)

The lead: The 2018 volleyball season got started with the first of back to back road matches. Hollins traveled to the Keystone State with a stop to face Wilson College in both school's season opener.

The result: Hollins 3, Wilson College 0

How it happened: Hollins raced out to a 25-19 set one victory. After cruising in the second set, 25-15, Hollins found themselves tied with Wilson, 26-26 in the third. Hollins would score two points in a row to finish off their hosts and claim the, 3-0, season opening sweep. 

Hollins notes:

• Senior Deja Hadden led the Hollins attack with 10 kills and three service aces
• First-year Kenna Esquibel added eight kills and 13 digs 
• Casey Mahan handed out a team high 20 assists
• Middle Kiki Speights recorded five solo blocks

Wilson notes:

• Tioleaoauli Posiulai had a match high 11 kills, two blocks, 14 digs, and two service aces
• Kristina Zuniga handed out 24 assists and 16 digs

What's next: Hollins will continue their season opening tour of Pennsylvania with a stop in Mont Alto on Saturday morning. Hollins will face off with Penn State Mont Alto at 11:00am before returning to Roanoke.
