Hollins Back In ODAC Action

Box Score

Winchester, VA -After playing a rare, mid-season, out of conference game, Hollins traveled to Shenandoah for an ODAC matchup.  Hollins came into the game with the Hornets looking to build on the offensive momentum they gained against Johnson & Wales.

The Hornets took the field looking to even their mark on the season while Hollins hit the road in search of their first conference win of the season.  The Hornets wasted little time in welcoming their guests by scoring less than two minutes in.  Alexandria Berrich scored back to back goals giving Shenandoah a 3-0 advantage in the first 15 minutes of action.  The Horents added two more first half goals to take a 5-0 lead into the break.

Hollins stepped up their defensive effort and held the home team in check for the first 20 minutes of the second stanza.  Shenandoah finally wore down Hollins and once again found the back of the net at the 65 minute mark.  Hollins was unable to get anything going on the offensive end as Shenandoah evened their overall record at 6-6 while picking up their third conference win in four tries.

Goalkeeper Audrey Haisely (Ashburn, VA) recorded 18 saves, giving the sophomore, a conference leading, 103 saves on the season.

Julia McDevitt came off the bench to score three second half goals.  Berrich and Averi Rosena added a pair of goals apiece with Alysha McCleaf and De'Nae Whittington each handing out two assists.

Hollins will return home to play host to Randolph College on Friday afternoon.  The game with the WildCats is scheduled to kickoff at 4:00pm.
