The Lead: The final regular season match of the 2025 soccer season took place on Wednesday afternoon when Lynchburg came to Roanoke for their Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) finale. The Hornets have secured the #7 seed in the upcoming ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament while Hollins went looking for her second conference win of the season. The match would be scoreless for the first 15-minutes of play until Lynchburg scored a trio of goals in a six-minute span to seize control. Trailing 5-0 at the half, Hollins would get an opportunity to cut into the deficit, but the scoring chance was turned aside. As the final horn sounded, the Hollins soccer season came to an end at the hands of the Hornets, 9-0.

Highlights 

• Lynchburg netted the first goal of the afternoon at the 15-minute mark. Five minutes later, the Hornets scored off a corner kick, and the score would be 3-0 after the visitors converted a turnover into a one-on-one opportunity.
• After Lynchburg added to their advantage, Bryanna Mejia Calix got free down the right side past the defense and sent a shot on goal that had to be saved by the Hornets keeper.
• Evelyn Keefer and Hayley Ponn each added shots for the offense.
• Senior defenders Anna Starman, Faith Falter, and Chloe Maher played in front of fellow senior T Shover for the last time in a Hollins uniform. The trio helped Shover on her way to 12 saves, the eighth double-digit save effort of the season.
