Roanoke, VA - After picking up a big road win at Salem College on Wednesday night, Hollins had a short turnaround as the jumped right back into conference play on Friday night.  Looking for their first ODAC win, Hollins played host to Randolph College in front of a packed house.  The WildCats came into the matchup having just earned their first conference win on Tuesday night.

The match started with Hollins being a gracious host, committing three service errors on their first five attempts.  Randolph took advantage of the Hollins miscues and raced out to an 11-6 lead.  Hollins continued to struggle as the WildCats won eight of the next 10 points to take a commanding lead.  Randolph took the opener 25-14.  The second set saw the two rivals trade points over the beginning stages of the set.  With the score tied at 5-5, the WildCats used two service aces on their next three serves to take the lead.  Randolph began to stretch out their lead and at set's end, enjoyed a 25-17 advantage on the scoreboard.  With their backs against the wall, Hollins didn't get the start to the third that they were looking for.  Randolph scored four straight before Hollins got a chance to serve.  Junior Lela Moore (Woodleaf, NC) served Hollins right back into the match as the home team won five straight on her serve.  However, the Hollins lead was short lived as the WildCats rattled off eight straight points and put their hosts in a big hole.  Hollins trailed by just four, 16-12, but Randolph put the match away by winning nine of the final 13 points.  10 Hollins service errors and 13 Randolph aces were too much to overcome as Hollins fell 0-3.

Lauren Hays (Saginaw, TX) was responsible for 10 of Hollins 28 kills.  Hays added an assist, a service ace, and a block while Moore handed out 22 assists to go with her four kills.  Rikki Martinez (Corpus Christi, TX) and Jessie Deese (Cary, NC) recorded six kills and six digs apiece.  Haley Ortiz (Portsmouth, VA) tallied a match high 18 digs from her Libero position.

Jordan Templin enjoyed an error free time at the net as she killed 12 of her 30 attacks without a single miscue.  Templin also dominated the service line with six aces while adding eight digs and a block.  Kerry McMichael assisted on 28 of 39 kills and Lexi Herrington led the WildCats with 12 digs.

Hollins will have to wait until Thursday to take another crack at picking up that first conference win.  Hollins will travel to ODAC power Randolph-Macon for a 7:00pm start.
