The Lead: The Hollins volleyball team played the first of four consecutive home matches to end the 2025 regular season against Randolph College on Wednesday night. The Green and Gold used a big first set, 17 kills, to take an early lead, 1-0. A 5-0 HU run late in the second would see Hollins rally to be poised to increase their advantage. However, the WildCats re-rallied and the match was tied. Hollins held a five-point lead in the third only to see the visitors close the set on a 13-5 surge to close out the frame. Randolph would once again use a run, 8-0, to rally for the third consecutive set and finish off a 3-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win.

Highlights
  • Hollins fell to the WildCats 25-15, 21-25, 22-25, 19-25.
  • A Sophia Maurer ace capped a 7-2 start to the evening. After a Randolph point, Aliyah Lightsey recorded three consecutive kills to help HU to an 8-1 run to put the first set out of reach.
  • Lightsey and Cassidy Henderson recorded winners as Hollins used a 5-0 run to make it 23-21 in the second, only to see the Cats regain control and tie the match at 1-1.
  • After back-to-back kills by Ivy Collins, Hollins appeared poised to retake the lead when they enjoyed a 17-12 edge in the third set. However, Randolph would again rally with a run of their own, five straight and 10 of the final 14 to take a 2-1 lead.
  • Trailing by one, a Konner Myers kill followed by a Norah Madrey ace and another Lightsey point, HU was up 13-11. Eight straight WildCat points would all but end the night as Hollins could not stave off another Randolph rally.
  • Lightsey led the offense with 12 kills while Alyssa Reed added 11, Henderson finished with nine, Collins eight, and Maurer seven. Hollins exceeded the 50-kill mark for the first time this season (54), 10 more than any match thus far this season.
  • Rachel Hull (20) and Breanna Anduiza (19) accounted for 39 of Hollins 50 assists.
  • Lightsey assisted on four blocks while Maurer and Collins each claimed a solo block. Reed (15) and Myers (12) both recorded double-digit digs.
Up Next: Hollins plays host to Guilford and Johnson & Wales on Saturday, November 1st for a tri-match. Prior to the 11:00am start with the Quakers, Hollins will honor her graduating volleyball players with Senior Day.
