Va. Beach, VA - For the second time in as many games, the Hollins soccer team loaded up the bus at set out in search of a win.  Saturday saw the young Hollins squad make the long trek to the eastern shore to face the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan in an ODAC matchup.

The Marlins wasted no time in jumping on their road weary opponents.  Laura Shular netted the first of her three consecutive goals less than a minute into the contest.  Shular then added two more goals over the next six minutes of play.  Hollins found their legs and started to pick up their defensive effort.  However, Virginia Wesleyan started another three goal outburst and at the midway point of the first half, enjoyed a 6-0 lead.  Hollins was unable to get anything going on the offensive end of the field and found themselves down, 8-0, at the break.  The second half was relatively calm as neither team did much.  Late in the match, the Marlins once again found the back of the Hollins net and as the final horn sounded, Virginia Wesleyan was ahead, 9-0, on the scoreboard.

Hollins found themselves unable to crack the Virginia Wesleyan defense as the Marlins enjoyed a 23 shot advantage during the match.  Audrey Haisley (Ashburn, VA), starting her third consecutive match in goal, recorded six saves on the fifteen shots that she faced.

Shular lead the Marlins with three goals while Katie Roberts came off the bench to net a pair.  Sarah Nickle added a goal and an assist while Megan Gerhart and Tiffany Lennon combined for the shut out.

Hollins will complete their three game road trip on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to face Bridgewater College.
