Event:Â 2026 Washington and Lee Carnival
Location:Â Lexington, Va.
The Lead:Â After posting their best finish and highest point total in program history at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Hollins track & field team traveled to Lexington to start the 2026 outdoor season. Hollins would get the season off to a quick start in a field that would consist of 16 different schools during the two-day event.

Field Events:
- Discus: Sanaa Belton was 14th with a distance of 30.25m.
- Hammer Throw: Belton earned her first top 10 with an 8th place effort at 40.74m.
- High Jump: HU would earn another top 10 when Freideman finished 9th with a height of 1.46m. Autumn Dale also competed in the event.
- Javelin: Watkins led the Hollins contingent at 18.78m. Belton was next at 17.28 while Ja'Nyla Green posted a mark of 10.02m.
- Long Jump: After earning All ODAC honors during the indoor season, Gomez finished 3rd with a jump of 5.03m. Freideman was 6th (4.74m) while Watkins made it three in the top 10 with an 8th place effort of 4.71m. Dale finished just outside the top 10 with her jump of 4.52m.
- Shot Put: Belton added a 5th place effort to her weekend with a final distance of 11.20m while Green posted 8.21m.
- Triple Jump: Gomez was once again 3rd with a jump of 10.84m. Dale was 8th at 10.33m finishing one spot ahead of Freideman at 10.22m.
Up Next: The Green and Gold make the trip to Lynchburg during the outdoor season when they compete at the Jack M. Toms Invitational on Friday-Saturday, March 27
