The Lead: The Hollins indoor track & field team was back in action for the first time in two weeks when they made the short trip to Salem to compete at the 2026 Joe LaRocco Invitational, hosted by Roanoke College. It was the last time this regular season that the team would have a chance to compete at the site of the 2026 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Indoor Championships at the end of February.  
 
Highlights & Notes   
Track Events:

• In the 60m Dash, Hollins would see their first sub eight second run in school history. In the Prelims, Jazmine Patterson earned a spot in the semifinals with a time of 8.11. Kamani Watkins finished in 8.68 while Lida Krodel posted a time of 9.25. In the Semis, Patterson set a personal best and Hollins record when she earned a spot in the Finals with a time of 7.96. The senior finished 3^rd in the Finals with another sub-eight run of 7.97.
• Patterson returned in the 200m to finish 6^th at 27.13. Madison Freideman recorded her season best time of 29.51. Krodel competed in the 60m Hurdles and earned a time of 11.28.
• Elizabeth Lowry finished the 800m in 3:00.27 while Natilie Sullivan registered 6:53.84 in the Mile.
• Lowry and Sullivan joined Sylvia Guillet and Evelyn Keefer to finish 4^th in the 4000m Distance Medley Relay (DMR) to post a time of 16:31.36, the 8^th best DMR in Hollins history.
• In the 4x400m Relay, Hollins set the 2^nd best mark in school history when the quartet of Freideman, Krodel, Watkins, and Patterson finished 4^th with a time of 4:30.25, 1.71 seconds off a program best.

 
Field Events:

• Sanaa Belton finished 4^th in the Weight Throw at 14.60m. In the Shot Put, Belton was 8^th with a distance of 10.66m. Ja'Nyla Green set a personal best with 8.35m while Watkins finished at 7.70m.
• Freideman set a collegiate best 1.56m in the High Jump, just missing her attempt at setting a school record at 1.61.
• Arianna Gomez finished 3^rd in the Triple Jump at 10.66m with Autumn Dale posting a jump of 9.50m. Gomez finished 5^th in the Long Jump (4.68m) ahead of teammates Watkins (4.24m) and Dale (4.08m).

Up Next: Hollins competes one final time before the conference championship with a trip to Harrisonburg to compete in the Rockingham Classic next Friday, February 20th.
