The Lead: The Hollins track & field team was back in action after opening the 2025-16 Indoor season in Lynchburg when they traveled north to Winchester to compete at the Shenandoah University Holiday Kick-Off. With 53 points, Hollins would finish the one-day meet in 4^th place out of nine competing college and universities.
 
Highlights & Notes   
Track Events:

• Arianna Gomez led a Hollins trio with 8.67 in the 60m Dash. Madison Freideman posted a time of 8.98 while Autumn Dale finished in 9.31.
• In the 60m Hurdles, first year Lida Krodel finished 8^th at 11.15 ahead of teammate Ameera Folwaczny at 12.45.
• After setting the Hollins program record at the 2025 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships (26.71), Jazmine Patterson broke her own record when she finished runner-up, crossing the line in 26.61.
• The 4x400m Relay would see Hollins finish third when the quartet of Sylvia Guillet, Evelyn Keefer, Elizabeth Lowry, and Natalie Sullivan recorded at time of 5:10.35.
• For the first time in the program's young history, Hollins entered a team in the 1650 Sprint Medley, Gomez, Krodel, Freideman, and Keefer won the event with a time of 4:58.90.

Field Events:

• Sanaa Belton broke two of her program records on Sunday afternoon. After setting a new Indoor record in the Shot Put on Friday (10.78m), the senior recorded her first collegiate 11+ effort with a final distance of 11.26m and finished runner-up. Belton claimed another set of 2^nd place points with a record throw of 14.93m in the Women's Weight Throw. In the Shot Put, first year Ja'Nyla Green finished with a distance of 7.48m.
• In the jumps Hollins would see a trio of top-5 finishes. Dale cleared the bar at 1.39m in the High Jump. In the Long Jump, Gomezz was 4^th at 4.69m and in the Triple Jump, Freideman was 5^th at 9.82m.

Up Next: Hollins travels to Salem after the winter break to compete at the Finn Pincus Invitational on January 16^th and 17th.
