Box Score Emory, VA - Wednesday night marked the resumption of Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play for a Hollins team looking to pick up their first victory of the new year. Hollins traveled to face conference leading Emory & Henry College. The Wasps came in tied with a pair of other teams without a conference loss while Hollins needed to pick up the road win in order to move up in the ODAC standings.

Hollins got right back into the game by rattling off a 7-0 run of their own to cut the deficit to four. However, Emory & Henry had a repeat performance, scoring 11 unanswered points, to close the quarter, 22-7. The Wasps added five quick points to push their advantage to 20 and despite playing their hosts even the rest of the half, Hollins trailed, 40-19, at the break. The second half was more of the same with Emory & Henry slowly building onto their advantage. The Wasps used 52.4% shooting and a big advantage on the glass, 46-29, to earn their third ODAC win of the young season with an 81-48 win over Hollins.
First-year's Nikki Valencia (Pearland, TX) and Sally Sroge (Louisville, CO) scored 10 points apiece to pace Hollins. Sroge grabbed a team high six rebounds while Valencia and Deana Campbell (Nashville, TN) recorded team highs with three assists. Emalee Jimenez (Westbury, NY) came off the bench to add nine points and a steal.
