The Lead: Eastern Mennonite made the trip to Roanoke almost a week after the weather forced the match to be rescheduled. The Royals came into the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) matchup off a home win over Guilford College on Saturday. Eastern Mennonite used a 15-3 shot advantage over the first 45-minutes of play on their way to a halftime lead. Hollins would score a late goal, but it wasn't enough and the Royals pushed their early ODAC record to 2-0 with a 9-1 road win over the Green and Gold.

Highlights 

• The first three minutes of play would see an EMU Yellow Card give Hollins a long free kick, but HU was unable to generate a scoring opportunity. Off the change of field, the Royals got a goal in transition to take a 1-0 lead.
• Trailing 2-0, Evelin Lemus-Arriaga took a pass and sent a shot to the lower left corner of the net. However, EMU keeper CJ Jefferson made a diving stop to keep Hollins off the board. EMU once again turned defense into offense and added to their advantage.
• Leading 5-0 at the break, Eastern Mennonite continued to pressure Hollins and added to the score board.
• Late in the game, Lemus-Arriaga found Isabella Byron and the first-year found the back of the net to make the final score 9-1.
• Byron Led the offense with three shots while Lemus-Arriaga attempted two, and Raynia Russell finished with one.
• Senior Zoe Baxter recorded 12 saves in goal after making her first start of the season.

Up Next: Hollins has a short turn-around as they play host to ODAC rival Bridgewater this Wednesday on Berkely Field. The match with the Eagles is scheduled to kick-off at 5:00pm.
