The Lead: The Hollins volleyball team returned to the Howe playing courts on campus for a match with Sweet Briar on Wednesday. It was a non-conference matchup as the Vixens are in their provisional year before returning full time to the roster of Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) volleyball schools. The Green and Gold would make it two in a row, soccer defeated Sweet Briar 5-1, over their arch rivals. Hollins used a huge hitting edge (HU finished over .400) and 20 service aces to dispatch of the Vixens in straight sets.

- Hollins defeated Sweet Briar 25-8, 25-11, 25-7.
- 35-8 kill advantage, a .406 hitting percentage, and 20 aces powered Hollins to her eighth win of the season, eclipsing the seven-win season in 2023 and putting HU in position to go after the 10-win campaign from 2022.
- Six different Hollins services combined for the 20 aces.
- Sophia Maurer paced a balanced attack with seven kills while the trio of Ivy Collins, Cassidy Henderson, and Dakota Webb-Hawkins each recorded five. Maurer added seven service aces.
- Breanna Anduiza handed out 17 assists to go with a pair of service aces and five digs. Rachel Hull had seven assists and three aces while Anisia Dean served two aces with five assists.
- Konner Myers led the defense with 18 digs and was a perfect 10 for 10 in service receptions.
Up Next: Hollins returns to ODAC play with a pair of matches this weekend. The home stand continues Friday night when Randolph-Macon comes to town for a 6:30pm start.
