The Lead: For the third time this week, the Hollins volleyball team was on the road in non-conference play. After a 3-0 win at Christendom earlier in the week, HU went to Pennsylvania to face Gallaudet and Wilson in a tri-match hosted by the Phoenix. The Bison earned their 11th win of the season with a 3-0 win over the Green and Gold. Against the host Wilson College, HU completed the after with a split thanks to a 3-0 win over the Phoenix.

Highlights:
  • Hollins fell to Gallaudet 17-25, 14-25, 15-25.
  • The Bison used a 19-kill edge to go with 13 service aces to sweep Hollins. In each of the three sets, Gallaudet used big runs to seize control and not let Hollins gain any momentum to mount any sort of a comeback.
  • Ivy Collins paced HU with five kills while Cassidy Henderson finished with four. Sophia Maurer had two kills, a block, two service aces, and three digs.
  • Rachel Hull handed out 10 assists with Konner Myers recording a team high 10 digs.
  • HU defeated Wilson 25-22, 25-23, 25-19.
  • Hollins used kills from Norah Madrey, Alyssa Reed, and Maurer to take four of the final seven points to take the opener. The second set would be tight late, but once again Hollins was able to hold on as another Reed kill would give HU a 2-0 lead.
  • A 38-20 edge at the net would allow Hollins to win the closely contested match.
  • Maurer (13) and Reed (10) each registered double digit kills. Madrey added four kills and five blocks.
  • Anisia Dean led the team with 13 assists while Hull handed out nine helpers and served four of the team's 10 aces. Myers had a match high 13 digs.

Up Next: Hollins looks to keep the momentum as the welcome their longtime rivals from Sweet Briar to campus on Tuesday. The match with the Vixens is scheduled to start at 5:30pm.
