The Lead: The Hollins soccer team opened Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play with a trip to Bridgewater on a dreary Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles, picked 4^th in the 2025 ODAC Women's Soccer preseason poll, struck early, netting three goals in the opening minutes. Hollins found her footing but couldn't get anything going on the offensive end of the field, falling to Bridgewater 12-0.

Highlights 

• A trio of Eagle goals in the opening minutes of play allowed the home team to take a nig lead into the break.
• After settling down at halftime, Hollins would only see a scoreless second 45-minutes broken when the Eagles were awarded a penalty shot at the 75^th minute. Bridgewater scored on the attempt, making the final tally 12-0.
• Midway through the opening half, Valtinique Simmons got free and sent a shot to the top part of the goal, but it was saved by the Eagle keeper to keep HU scoreless in the first half.
• Simmons had another scoring chance in the second frame only to see the shot turn aside by the keeper. Off a corner kick, KJ Donlan was able to get a shot off that went wide of the target.
• T Shover got the start in net but was replaced by Grace Glerum after recording a pair of saves.

Up Next: Hollins continues ODAC road play on Saturday when they make the trip to Sweet Briar to take on their arch rivals with a noon opening kick.
