Event:Â 2025 Liberty Open

The Lead:Â The Hollins track & field team was back in the Hill City to compete at the 2025 Liberty Open, hosted by the Flames at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex. It was the first meet since much of the team returned to campus after J-term.

Highlights & Notes  Â
Track Events:
- Jazmine Patterson returned to the track to post a 29.24 in the 60m Dash. Ashlyne Golston was just behind her teammate at 30.01.
- Patterson returned to compete in the 400m, finishing the race in 1:04.86.
Field Events:
- Sanaa Belton paced the throwers with a pair of top 20 finishes. The junior was 14th in the Weight Throw (13.57m) and 18th in the Shot Put at 10.32m.
- Ava Kegler finished with a throw of 9.80 in the Weight Throw and was followed by teammates Lilly Phillips (9.68m), Tenley Reck (8.53m), and Ella Wilds (5.97m). In the Shot Put, Kegler finished at 9.00m while Phillips posted a distance of 8.25m. Wilds (7.07m) and Reck (6.86m) rounded out the throwing contingent wearing Green and Gold.
- Madison Freideman (4.41m) finished a few spots ahead of Autumn Dale at 4.22m. Freideman completed the meet by posting a 6th place effort in the High Jump at 1.45m.
Up Next: Â HU will be in action next Saturday when they make the short trip to Salem to compete at the Joe LaRocco Invitational, hosted by Roanoke College.
