Records: Hollins 11-11 / 4-10 ODAC | Eagles 19-4 / 12-2 ODAC

The Lead: Hollins was back home to defend her home court on Saturday when Bridgewater came to Roanoke. The Eagles came into the game sitting in 2nd in the most current Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) standings. Hollins scored first in a first half that would see Bridgewater go into the locker room with a slim, 32-30, edge. The Green and Gold were down just five heading into the fourth quarter but couldn't mount a rally as Bridgewater pulled away for the 71-59, conference, win.

Highlights
  • Sarah Morales scored the opening hoop for the second game in a row. BC scored 11 in a row before a Morales jumper stopped the run. Morales completed the three-point play and that was followed by buckets by Grayson Alfano and Zaria Holden. A 3-pointer by Missy Hazard and Hollins was back in the game, 13-12. The Eagles looked to pull away but a Cabria Mutz jump shot would trim the deficit to 20-16 after one period of play.
  • A pair of three-pointers by Ariana Gutierrez and one by Morales allowed Hollins to stay close. Holden scored right before the buzzer and HU had cut it to 32-30 at the break.
  • Hazard opened the second half by connecting from long range to allow Hollins to retake the lead. The teams traded the lead before a 7-0 surge by the Eagles gave the visitors control. Holden hit three free throws down the stretch, but it would be BC taking a five-point lead into the fourth quarter.
  •  The Eagles started the finale with a 12-2 run that put Hollins down by double digits and Bridgewater would hold that lead for the remainder of the game, picking up the ODAC win, 71-59.
  • Holden led with 16 points while Morales added 15. Mutz grabbed a team high 11 rebounds and led HU in steals (3) and assists (6).
