The Lead: Randolph College was the opponent on Senior Day for the Hollins soccer team. Prior to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) matchup with the WildCats, the eight soccer seniors were honored for their dedication and contributions to the program and the university. After the festivities it would be the road team to strike first. Randolph scored a pair of goals in the first 12 minutes of the match. The WildCats continued to enjoy a bulk of the play in the Hollins zone and led 6-0 at the half. The two long-time ODAC rivals would each score once in the second half as Randolph picked up the conference win, 7-1.

Highlights
  • In a first half that saw the visitors enjoy a big shot edge, 23-2, and used that to pull away going into the break.
  • After another Randolph score, Hollins began to gain some zone time.
  • Just before the 50-minute mark, Evelyn Keefer took the ball down the right side into the box and made a perfect crossing pass to the waiting foot of Evelin Lemus-Arriaga to get Hollins on the scoreboard.
  • The second half would be much more tightly contested with Randolph just edging out their hosts, 8-7, in shots.
  • Lemus-Arriaga and Valtinique Simmons each recorded a pair of shots. The goal was the fourth of the year for Lemus-Arriaga while Keefer got credit for her third assist of the season.
  • T Shover made several difficult saves on her way to 12 saves.
