The Lead: Hollins made the trip north on Interstate to take on Shenandoah on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets welcomed the Green and Gold by netting a trio of goals in the opening 10 minutes of play. Hollins found her legs defensively but couldn't sustain much momentum on the offensive end of the field. Hollins would allow just a pair of scores during the second half as the Hornets picked up the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win, 8-0.

Highlights
  • Shots on goal favored the home team, 22-2, and the Hollins defense kept them in the match for much of the afternoon thanks in part to a 14-2 save advantage.
  • Evelyn Keefer led the offense with two shots, one on goal while first-year striker Raynia Russell came off the bench with a shot on net.
  • Grace Glerum got the start and went the full 90 minutes, recording 14 saves in her first start of the season.
  • On the backend, sophomore Liah-Rae Tucker logged a full 90 minutes playing multiple spots on the field.
Up Next: Hollins travels to Danville to face Averett on Wednesday, October 15th at 3:00pm.
