Highlights
  • Sarah Morales scored the first bucket of the night to get Hollins out to a quick start. After the teams traded the lead, Missy Hazard connected from long range to make it 11-10. Zaria Holden pushed the lead to five, only to see the visitors close the quarter on a 6-2 run.
  • The lead would go back and forth, changing hands 11 times, until the teams tied the score at 27-27, the fourth tie of the half. The final five minutes would see W&L finish the half on an 11-4 run for a seven-point advantage.
  • A layup by Noelani Carter followed by a Zaria Holden jump shot and Hollins was back to within a bucket, 39-37. At the media timeout, Hollins was once again only down by seven, but the Generals used a 10-0 run to close the frame and take control of the matchup.
  • With five minutes left to play, Washington and Lee enjoyed their largest lead of the evening, 66-43. Hollins started to attack the hoop and cut into the deficit. An offensive rebound and put-back by Cabria Mutz started the late rally. Holden hit another layup and Erin Allen scored on a drive to the basket. Hazard hit another three ball and when Morales scored in the paint, Hollins had outscored their guests 14-5 to close the game.
