The Lead: A trip to the Hill City awaited Hollins after the snow in the Roanoke Valley over the past two days. Lynchburg came into the matchup by winning seven of their past ten including three in a row. The Hornets raced out to a double-digit lead and the HU deficit grew to 17 at the half. Hollins could never get into an offensive rhythm, falling to Lynchburg 78-48.

Highlights 
  • Zaria Holden scored to make it 8-10 at the midway point of the opening 10-minutes of play. However, Lynchburg would close the quarter on a 10-2 run to take a 20-10 advantage.
  • Sarah Morales cut the lead to nine in the opening minute of the second period. That was as close as the visitors would get and found themselves trailing 45-28 at the half.
  • A Cabria Mutz jumper would start the second half before the Hornets used an 8-0 surge to put the game out of reach.
  • Holden and Noelani Carter sparked a 4-0 run in the fourth quarter but it was quickly answered by another Lynchburg run. Missy Hazard scored int eh paint to close the game as Hollins would fall, 78-48, on the road.
  • Holden finished with 20 points and five rebounds while Mutz added nine and five with Morales scoring eight to go with three steals.
