The Lead: The Hollins volleyball team returned home from a long road trip when they played host to Eastern Mennonite. Both teams came in looking for their first Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win of the season. The home crowd would see the Green and Gold take the opening set but would fall behind 2-1. The fourth would be tied late (21-21) but the Royals closed out the win with a 4-1 run to take the match.

- Hollins fell to EMU: 26-24, 10-25, 16-25, 22-25.Â
- HU led 23-20 in the opening frame, but Eastern Mennonite rattled off four straight to take the lead. A Carrie Nelson kill followed by a pair of Jaelyn Werley aces would give Hollins the lead.
- The Royals seized control of the match with a couple of set wins. In the fourth, a Werley kill tied the score at 21 apiece. Sophia Maurer would get HU wo within one after a 2-0 surge by the visitors. However, there would be no comeback as a service ace ended the match in favor of the road team.
- Nelson (12) and Maurer (10) both had double digit kills with Faith Schaefer adding four. Werley handed out 26 assists and recorded 17 digs to go with her two service aces. Nelson added three aces while Schaefer and Cassidy Henderson each had a solo and three assisted blocks.
