The Lead: Hollins returned to the Richmond area over the weekend for the , two-day Yellow Jacket Invitational. The meet, hosted by Randolph-Macon, was held at the Aquatic Center in Chesterfield, Va. HU would finish sixth in the seven-team field after the 18-event meet.

Highlights  

• The Invitational got started with two Hollins teams competing in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Jada Deane, Mia Bollerer, Madeleine Freeman, and Katherine Komarek finished 14^th in a time of 1:56..96. That would be two spots ahead of the quartet of Rachelle Kilgore, Samantha Ferrer, Nora Sorensen, and Amanda Cash.
• Cash posted the best individual finish of the weekend with a 7^th place effort (24:36.68) in the 1650 Freestyle. The junior also competed in the 500 Freestyle and 200 Freestyle.
• Ferrer just missed a top-10 with an 11^th place finish in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 3:24.62 while also finishing just outside the top-20 in the 100 Backstroke. In the 100 Fly, Ferrer finished one spot behind Sorensen (1:33.18) by just .10 of a second.
• Deane led a quintet in the 50 Freestyle (29.11) before finishing 18^th in the 100 Backstroke and posting a 2:44.73 in the 200 Back. Komarek touched in 30.28 in the 50 Free while going 6:38.27 in the 500 Freestyle and placing 18^th in the 200 Free.
• Freeman was 15^th in a time of 2:16.58 in the 200 Freestyle and competed in the 200 Individual Medley Relay (2:45.25). In the 200 Breaststroke, Freeman finished in 2:59.88 ahead of Kilgore (3:18.19). Kilgore earned a top-20 in the 100 Breast (1:25.73).
• Bollerer (1:10.69) finished one spot clear of Sorensen (1:11.84) in the 100 Freestyle.
• The best relay finish took place in the 800 Freestyle when Komarek, Cash, Deane, and Freeman touched 10^th (9:40.57).

Up Next: After winter break, Hollins will be back in the pool after the new year with a trip to Bridgewater for a tri-meet with the Virginia Wesleyan and the Eagles, January 13^th.
