The Lead:Â The Green and Gold made the short trip to Salem to challenge Roanoke College on Thursday night. The Maroons would take the first two sets by controlling the net. In the third, Hollins used a 5-0 run to make it 19-22 but RC would take the final three points to claim the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win, 3-0.

- Hollins fell to RC: 16-25, 12-25, 19-25.Â
- Roanoke used an 8-0 run to break open a close set to take a 1-0 edge.
- With momentum on their side, the Maroons raced out to an 8-2 start in building a 2-0 lead.
- Trailing 15-22, a pair of Sophia Maurer kills would help to spark a 5-0 run to get HU back into the match. However, a Roanoke kill coupled with a pair of Hollins miscues and the match would end in favor of the home team, 3-0.
- Maurer and Selena Wolfe would combine for 13 of Hollins' 21 kills. Jaelyn Werley led HU with 15 assists and nine digs. Makhaila Johnson and Faith Schaefer combined for two blocks. Maurer came into the match ranked 21st in the country with 46 and would add another service ace to her tally. Johnson added a pair of service aces.
