The Lead: Day two of the Maroon Classic would see Hollins pick up her fist win of the 2022 campaign when they topped Mary Baldwin, 3-1, in their first match of Saturday. In the tournament finale, Hollins would win the first set, but eventually fall to Salem, 3-1.

Highlights 

• Hollins downed Mary Baldwin by the set scores of 25-20, 25-13, 16-25, 25-18.
• 16 service aces and a 39-32 edge at the net would help propel Hollins to the victory.
• Sophia Maurer once again led the Hollins offense with 10 kills while Carrie Nelson added eight and Kenna Esquibel finished with seven. Selena Wolfe and Zoe Brooks served up nine of HU's 16 aces with Wolfe leading in digs (8) and Brooks handing out 18 helpers.
• HU fell to Salem by the set scores of 25-22, 23-25, 8-25, 17-25.
• Maurer had 16 more kills with Nelson joining her in double digits with 10. Faith Schaefer and Nelson each account for two blocks while Brooks led in assists (21) and Zoe Miranda recorded 11 digs.
• For the second tournament in a row, Maurer was named to the All-Tournament team, after being named All-Tournament at the 2022 Captains Classic last weekend.
