The Lead: Hollins made a post-Thanksgiving trip to Lexington to face Washington and Lee in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play on Wednesday afternoon. The Green and Gold scored the first four points of the matchup before the home standing Generals used a 9-3 run to close the first quarter and seize control of the game. The next 10 minutes would see 31 W&L points as the Generals pulled away from there for the 94-36 victory.
Highlights:
- Hollins got a pair of Cabria Mutz free throws followed by a Noelani Carter jump shot to start the game 4-0. Moriah Hill tied the score at 8-8 before the home team scored nine of the next 12 to take a 17-11 lead after one period of play.
- A 13-1 run to start the second frame put the Generals in firm control. Washington and Lee hit 11-24 from the field including 7-18 from long range in a 31 point second quarter.
- The home team would add 50 points over the final 20 minutes to claim the conference win. Hollins would shot just 26% from the field while W&L got 64 points off their bench to control the game throughout.
- Hill finished with eight points and four rebounds while Mutz finished with seven points and a team high eight boards.
- Elka Prechel led all scorers with 15 while Hannah Malik (13) and Lauren Achter (11) gave W&L a trio of double-digit scorers.
