The Lead: The Hollins volleyball team opened Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play on Wednesday when Bridgewater made the trip to Roanoke. The Eagles wasted little time jumping on their hosts by racing out to a 16-3 advantage. After winning the first set, BC led 5-2. Hollins rallied to cut into the deficit but couldn't complete the comeback and trailed 2-0. In the finale, the Green and Gold trailed by two, but the Eagles used a 9-2 run to take the ODAC win, 3-0.

Highlights 

• Hollins was defeated by Bridgewater 11-25, 13-25, 13-25.
• BC used a 26-15 kill edge and 15 service aces to control the match throughout.
• Norah Madrey had five kills, four digs, and a pair of blocks. Sophia Maurer added three kills, two service aces, and two blocks with a trio of HU attackers each recording two kills.
• Meredith Crawley had five digs with Madrey, Konner Myers, and Anisia Dean each registering four. Dean handed out five assists with Brenna Rea and Cassidy Henderson combining for a block.

Up Next: Hollins goes on the road for a tri-match at Mid-Atlantic Christian on Saturday. HU takes on the Mustangs at 2pm before facing Christendom at 4pm.
