The Lead: For the final time this month, the Hollins volleyball team was in non-conference action when they made the trip to Maryland to face Salisbury and St. Mary's on Saturday afternoon. The Green and Gold could not get anything going in a three-set loss to Salisbury. Against the host Seahawks, Hollins would once again fail to take a set in falling to St, Mary's, 3-0.

Highlights: 
  • Hollins fell to Salisbury 8-25, 11-25, 10-25.
  • The Gulls started the match with a 7-1 run and used a 36-8 edge in net points to take the match in straight sets.
  • Hollins would manage just eight kills, two apiece by Sophia Maurer, Cassidy Henderson, and Alyssa Reed. Anisia Dean recorded four assists.
  • Maurer served four aces while registering five digs and Reed paced the back row with seven digs.  
  • St. Mary's defeated Hollins 9-25, 16-25, 18-25.
  • The home team would score 12 consecutive points to break open a tight first set and cruise to a 3-0 win.
  • Selena Wolfe led the offense with five kills while Henderson added four, and Reed finished with three. Dean assisted on 14 of the team's 17 total kills.
  • Rachel Hull picked up 11 digs and Aliyah Lightsey accounted for three Hollins blocks.
Up Next: Hollins returns to Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play on Wednesday with a trip to face Guilford College at 6:30pm.
