The Lead: The 2024 soccer season came to a close on Saturday when Eastern Mennonite came to Roanoke for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match. The Royals scored in the opening minutes and carried a 2-0 lead into the half. The second half would see Hollins had several chances but, in the end, the Royals took the ODAC match, 4-0.

Highlights 
  • Trailing 2-0, Evelyn Keefer had a chance to trim the lead. In the closing minutes of the first half, Jazmin Fitzgerald got loose in front of the net but her shot would go just wide.
  • To start the second half, Izzy Workman launched a shot that sailed just over the cross bar. Around the 63:00-minute mark, HU got back-to-back scoring chances but shots by Keefer and Grace Glerum were saved by the Royal's keeper. Five minutes later, Adelie Condra sent a shot that hit the post and the score remained 2-0.
  • T Shover added 10 more saves to her season total of 126, 2nd in the ODAC.
