Score:
 Hollins 3, Sweet Briar 1
Records: Hollins 3-5-0 / 1-2-0 ODAC | Vixens 3-5-0 / 0-3-0

The Lead: The annual matchup of long time Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rivals took place on Wednesday when Hollins welcomed Sweet Briar to Berkley Field. After a scoreless first half, the Green and Gold struck first to take a 1-0 edge. The Vixens responded to tie the score with 17-minutes remaining to play. Five minutes later, Hollins got the eventual game winner on a free kick and added an insurance goal to make the final 3-1.

Highlights
  • Adelie Condra, Evelyn Keefer, Izzy Workman, and Evelin Lemus-Arriaga all had scoring chances in the first half but the match would be scoreless at the break.
  • With just over 20-minutes left to play, Keefer dribbled passed a defender and beat the keeper to give Hollins the lead.
  • After the vixens tied it, Workman took a free kick to the left of the goal and put a well-placed shot over the head of the keeper and into the top right corner of the net for the game winner.
  • With just 1:30 left on the clock, Condra took the ball down the right side passed the defenders and around the keeper to make the final 3-1.
  • It was the first home win since September 23, 2019 and the first ODAC win since a 3-2 win at Sweet Briar on September 22, 2018.
  • Keefer (9), Condra (7) and Workman (3) have combined for 19 of the team's 22 goals this season.
  • T Shover got the win in goal, recording a pair of saves behind a defense that only allowed three of the Vixen's 13 shots on goal.
Up Next: Hollins will look to pick up back-to-back wins for the second time this season when they host Averett on Berkley Field this Saturday at 2:00pm.
