Location:Â Sweet Briar, Va.
The Lead: The Hollins swim team was on the road for a tri-meet with a pair of Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) foes. Sweet Briar played host to Hollins and Guilford in a 14-race meeting. Hollins would claim first in both relay events. In the 12 individual races, the Green and Gold finished first seven times to go with nine runner-up and five 3
rd place finishes in sweeping the tri-meet against their ODAC rivals.
Highlights Â
- Hollins claimed first place points in both the 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle relays.
- In the two distance events, HU would see Amanda Cash win the 400 (6:05.64) and finish third in the 800 (12:58.32). Macy Gibson secured the runner-up spot in each of the events (12:36.77 and 6:06.81). Gibson also earned second place points in the 200 Butterfly.
- Mia Bollerer won the 200 Freestyle in 2:48.30 while returning to finish runner-up in the 100 Free (1:18.27) and 50 Free (35.41). Kyra Campbell was second in the 200 Freestyle (2:52.09) and 3rd in the 100 (1:19.25).
- Jada Deans claimed a pair of wins, 32.68 in the 50 Free and 3:12.42 in the 200 Backstroke with a runner-up set of points in the 100 Back (1:27.19).
- Madeleine Freeman won the 200 Individual Medley in 3:10.70 with Campbell finishing 3rd (3:18.23). Freeman also claimed first I the 200 Breaststroke (3:25.33) and runner-up in the 100 Breast in a time of 1:37.59. Rachelle Kilgore was 3rd in the 100 Breast (1:40.11).
- Nora Sorensen won the 200 Butterfly in a time of 3:33.10 and was runner-up in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:39.92. Samantha Ferrer was 3rd in the 100 Fly when the senior touched the wall in 1:56.70. Â
