The Lead: The Hollins swim team hosted their lone swim meet of the season on Saturday when they welcomed Cedar Crest and Sweet Briar to the Northen Swim Center. Prior to the meet, Hollins honored her lone senior swimmer Jada Deane in a pre-meet ceremony. After the festivities, Hollins would pick up a win over the Vixens (150-63), before falling to Cedar Crest by just six points (125-119).

Highlights:

Relays:

• Jada Deane, Jessica Lopez, Laurel Schlaudt, and Anya Quass-Lee won the opening event of the meet, the 200 Medley Relay, with a final time of 2:13.05.
• Hollins was runner up in the 200 IM Relay when the quartet of Abby Marmorstein, Lopez, Deane, and Addison Jones touched in a time of 2:06.91.

Top Individual Times:

• Marmorstein won the 1000 Freestyle by two minutes with a time of 13:10.27. The sophomore earned another set of first place points in the 100 Backstroke at 1:07.91 and made it 3-3 with a win in the 100 Butterfly (1:16.64).
• On her Senior Day, Deane won the 200 Backstroke (2:51.84) and finished runner-up in the 50 Freestyle (28.92) by .21 of a second.
• Laural Schlaudt was just behind Deane in the 50 Free at 30.44.  Schlaudt added 2^nd in the 100 Breaststroke (1:29.10) and 3^rd in the 200 Individual Medley (IM) at 2:50.89.
• Quass-Lee was the only swimmer to go sub-1:00 in the 100 Freestyle when she finished first at 59.38. She added a 2^nd in the 200 IM (2:47.62) and runner-up in the 500 Freestyle (6:43.88).
• Lopez finished 2^nd in the 200 Breaststroke at 3:16.69 and added 2nd in the 200 Freestyle (2:35.61).
• Jones was 3^rd in the 500 Free with a time of 7:52.68 and 4^th in the 200 Freestyle (2:57.56). Madeline Lu finished 3^rd in the 100 Breaststroke at 1:39.99.

 
Up Next: Halloween will be the backdrop for the next Hollins tri-meet when they travel to Lynchburg to compete against Randolph and Sweet Briar in the pool at the Bateman Aquatic Center.
