The Lead:Â A mid-week visit from Shenandoah was on the calendar for a Hollins team looking for their second Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win of the season. The Hornets brought a two-match losing streak into the contest but used five first half goals to take an advantage. Shenandoah added late scores to take the ODAC match, 9-0.
HighlightsÂ
- Hollins recorded seven saves in the first 45-minutes of play, but it wasn't enough to overcome a big edge in shots for the visitors.
- Late int eh second half, Hollins had a couple good scoring chances. The first was thwarted when the Hornet keeper made a nice sliding stop when Evelyn Keefer broke free of the defense.
- The second scoring chance would see an open shot by Izzy Workman went just over the crossbar and out of play.
- Workman led the way with a pair of shots. On defense the back line of Hayley Ponn, Chloe Maher, and Faith Falter helped to combine to block multiple shots. T Shover made double-digit (12) stops for the third time in her last four outings.
