Highlights
- The game's first six minutes would see just a single Randolph-Macon free throw as both teams struggled to score. Trailing 6-0, Sarah Morales got Hollins on the board with a jump shot that sparked a 6-2 close to the quarter and see the game tied at 8-8.
- Six straight Morales points gave HU the lead and a Cabria Mutz FT made it 15-12. An Erin Allen bucket and another Morales hoop would push the lead to nine. The Jackets cut it to three before Hollins closed the half with a 6-1 surge, capped by Noelani Carter's fast break layup.
- Carter made it 29-20 to start the second half. However, RMC answered with a 9-0 run to tie the game once again. After falling behind by a point, Mutz scored in the closing seconds to make it 35-34 going into the fourth period.
- The game would go back and forth with a Morales free throw giving the Green and Gold a 43-42 edge with just over three minutes left to play. A pair of Morales free throws gave HU a 3-point lead heading into the final minute. Randolph-Macon tied the game with a three pointer and Hollins would have the ball for the final shot. The 15-foot jump shot just missed the mark and the game was headed into overtime.
- The extra frame belonged to the visitors from Ashland as the Yellow Jackets mounted an eight-point lead. Three-pointers by Missy Hazard and Zaria Holden cut the deficit to four, but Hollins could get no closer, falling to the Yellow Jackets 60-56.
