The Lead: For the first time in a month, the Hollins swimmers were back in the pool when they made the trip to the Shenandoah Valley to compete in a tri-meet. HU would take on Bridgewater and Virginia Wesleyan in a bit of a preview for the 2024 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Swim Championships. Hollins would fall to the host Eagles, 196-34, while the Marlins picked up the 177-48 win.
Highlights
- Amanda Cash picked up Hollins best finish of the meet with a 3rd place effort (12:48.04) in the 800 Freestyle. Cash would add a 5th place in the 100 Breaststroke in 1:45.34 and post a time of 6:09.93 when finishing 5th in the 400 Freestyle.
- The 200 Freestyle would see Katherine Komarek (5th) finish in 2:47.86, just ahead of Mia Bollerer at 2:56.44. Komarek was 4th in the 400 Free (5:58.48) while placing 7th in the 100 Freestyle. Bollerer posted a 1:22.24 in the 100 Freestyle and finished 8th in the 50 Freestyle with a team best 35.68.
- Samantha Ferrer earned a 7th in the 100 Backstroke (1:49.19) and added a 4th in the 100 Butterfly (1:49.17). Nora Sorensen was 5th in the 100 Fly finishing just behind her teammate at 1:53.38 and posted a time of 39.39 in the 50 Freestyle.
- Rachelle Kilgore finished 6th in the 200 Breaststroke (3:50.93) to go with a 7th place effort in the 100 Breaststroke and rounding out the quartet of Green and Gold swimmers in the 50 Freestyle. Makhaila Johnson gave Hollins a trio in the top-10 of the 50 Freestyle with a finish of 36.01 and touched in the 100 Free at 1:24.27.

Up Next: The regular season will wrap up next Saturday when Hollins travels to Winston-Salem to compete in a tri-meet with Salem and Greensboro.
