The Lead: Hollins made the trip south to face Ferrum on Wednesday night. Hollins entered the game with the Panthers on a three-game win streak, including an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win over Averett last time out. Ferrum raced out to an 11-3 lead only to see the Green and Gold rally to tie the score at 20-20 heading into the break. Hollns would twice lead by as many as 11 but a 14-0 Ferrum run to end the third and start the fourth put HU behind. The Green and Gold got to within 45-46 but couldn't re-rally as the Panthers held on for the 40-45 win.
Highlights:
- The home team would score first but a Noelani Carter layup would knot the score at 3-3. However, the Panthers scored eight straight to take an 11-3 lead after one period of play.

Ariana Gutierrez put HU in front 20-18 but Ferrum answered before the buzzer to send the game into the break in a 20-20 tie.
- A pair of Mutz free throws followed by a layup by the sophomore and the Hollins lead was 24-20, just minutes into the third quarter. A Hill 3-ball pushed the lead further. Hollins would start the third on an 11-0 run and led 31-20 after a Funderburk layup. HU held the 11-point cushion until a Ferrum three right before the end of the quarter gave the home team some momentum.
- The Panthers carried that momentum to start the fourth frame on their own 11-0 run to retake the lead, 34-31. A Ferrum three-pointer right before the media timeout gave the Panthers a 44-40 edge with five minutes remaining.
- Trailing by five, a Funderburk score followed by a Mutz layup and HU was within one, 45-46. A Ferrum jump shot grew the lead to three with 1:30 left to play.
