The Lead: The final day of the 2023 Susan Dunagan Holiday Classic would see Hollins square of with York (Pa.) less than 24 hours after picking up a double overtime win over Lancaster Bible. HU led early only to see the Spartans rally to take a three-point cushion into the break. York opened a double digit lead before the Green and Gold mounted a rally, but in the end, the comeback would fall short as Hollins fell 58-53.

Highlights 

• A Sarah Morales bucket followed by an Ariana Gutierrez free throw put Hollins in front early. Moriah Hill hit a jump shot followed by a 3-pointer by Iyana Sigei and Noelani Carter hoop to end the quarter put HU in front by four.
• Cabria Mutz scored to start the second period to give Hollins her largest lead of the evening. The Spartans would retake the lead only to see Morales make it 21-20 at the mid-way point of the quarter. Tied 23-23, York would close the half on a 5-2 run heading into the half.
• With 7:56 on the clock, a Mutz three-point play would see HU back in front. The Spartans would seize control to take a seven-point advantage into the fourth frame.
• Morales picked up a steal and converted it into a three-point play to get Hollins back into the game. Carter cut the deficit to four but HU would get no closer and York held on despite Hollins scoring the final six points of the game.
• Morales finished with 13 points and five rebounds. Missy Hazard added nine points with Mutz scoring eight to go with a game high 15 rebounds.
• For their efforts over the two-game event, Morales and Mutz were named to the 2023 Susan Dunagan Holiday Classic All-Tournament Team.
