The Basics 

Score: Hollins 2, Sweet Briar 3 
Records: Hollins 0-4 / 0-1 ODAC | Vixens 1-4 / 1-0 ODAC 

The Lead: After a trio of non-conference matches, Hollins faced Sweet Briar in their Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opener on the road. Sweet Briar would score first, but the Green and Gold responded. With just 33 seconds left in the first half and trailing 2-1, Hollins got the equalizer heading into the break. However, despite out-shooting the Vixens, Sweet Briar got the lone second half goal for the 3-2 win.

Highlights 

  • Trailing 1-0, Hollins used a goal by Anna Starman off a feed from Katie Christoffersen to tie the score. 
  • Down one and the time winding down, Isabella Workman got free and beat the Vixen keeper to tie the match at 2-2 heading into the break. 
  • Hollins would enjoy a 27-26 shot edge, but 15 second half shots by the home team would allow them to net the lone score of the second half for the 3-2, ODAC, win.
  • Cat Bussani went the distance in goal, recording 12 saves on the afternoon.
