Meet: Hollins vs. Pfeiffer
Results: Hollins 176 | Falcons 260
The Lead: For the only time this season, Hollins looked to defend her home pool when they welcomed Pfeiffer on Sunday afternoon. The meet would be the final home meet for HU's lone senior, Amanda Fodor. Fodor was honored at the first break of the meet for all she has done for Hollins and the swim program. In the pool, a shorthannded HU squad would come up short, 260-176, on the afternoon.
Highlights & Notes
- Amanda Cash, Samantha Ferrer, Israella Freidline, and Madeleine Freeman would take the top spot in the 400 Freestyle Relay in a final time of 4:56.89.
- Freidline just missed an individual win when she was just out-touched in the 50 Freestyle by .42 of a second. Israella also clamined runner-up points in the 100 Breaststroke (1:26.61) and the 200 Backstroke (3:05.26).
- Cash was second in the two longest events of the afternoon. In the 1000 Freestyle, Cash would post a time of 14:37.53 before retunring to post a time of 7:11.73 in the 500 Freestyle.
- Ferrer was runner-up in the 100 Backstroke (1:37.75) and the 100 Butterfly (1:41.46) while Freeman finished second in the 200 Freestyle (2:28.36) and the 200 Breaststroke (3:11.66).
Up Next: Hollins will have a long break for the holidays before resuming the regular season with a trip to Farmville to compete in a tri-meet with Bridgewater and Sweet Briar. The event will be hosted by Hampden-Sydney on January 20th.
