The Lead: Saturday marked the end of the regular season for the Hollins soccer team. Eastern Mennonite came to town for the final ODAC matchup of the fall. Hollins would play her best half of ODAC soccer of the season in a first half that would see 12 saves and the Royals holding just a 1-0 advantage at the break. However, in the second half, EMU would wear down the Green and Gold and go on to win their second conference match of the season.
Highlights .
- Despite 21 first half shots, Hollins would be down 1-0 at the break, thanks mostly to 12 saves by Cat Bussani.
- 27 more Royal shots in the second frame would be too much for a weary Hollins defense.
- Isabella Workman was able to get loose for a first half shot and in the second half, Katie Christoffersen would take the ball down the right side and get stopped by the EMU keeper.
- Bussani finished the afternoon with 26 saves, her most in a single match this season. For the year, the junior finished the regular season with 161 saves.
- Prior to the start of the match, Hollins took a moment to honor their lone senior, Luna Rodriguez.Â
