The Lead: Hollins Volleyball closed out the final day of the Maroon Classic by dropping matches to Greensboro and Methodist. 

Highlights: 

  • The Green and Gold opened the day by dropping a 3-0 decision to GC by game scores of 25-14, 25-18 and 25-13.  
  • HU got a team-high nine kills from Deanna Kee who also had an ace as well. Kenna Esquibel and Tyler Sesker each had three kills for Hollins. Additionally on offense, Hannah Crum and Zoe Brooks each dished out seven assists for Hollins.  
  • Bella Brown paced the defense for HU with nine digs, while Esquibel chipped in with eight stops of her own.  
  • Greensboro hit .226 for the match, notching 32 kills on the afternoon.  
  • In the final match of the weekend for Hollins, Methodist topped HU by game scores of 25-19, 25-21 and 25-17. 
  • Hollins notched a total of 33 kills in the match led by Kee who had nine. Esquibel and Sesker each had seven. Crum recorded 14 assists, while Brooks had 13.  
  • Sesker and Emily Clarke each registered four blocks and Esquibel had a team-best nine digs. Kee added seven digs and Crumb had five.  

Up Next: Hollins will return home on Wednesday when it opens up ODAC play against Randolph-Macon. First-serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
