Box Score GREENSBORO, NC - The Hollins tennis team hit the road Saturday, making their long awaited season debut after more than a year off.
The Green and Gold took on a tough Guilford team and fell to the Quakers 1-8, with Hollins picking up a singles win. In total, Hollins had six players making their colleigate tennis debut on Saturday.
Doubles Highlights
-In #1 doubles, the team of
Elizabeth Eubank and
Amanda Dobert fell 0-8 to Guilford's Schreiber and Pardue.
-#2 doubles,
Katherine Komarek and
Catherine Bussani, lost 3-8 to Arnett and Niyibizi of GC.
-The final double match at #3 saw
Ajaya Green and
Jessica Alexander drop a 2-8 match to the Quakers team of Reed and Parker.
Singles Highlights
-Bussani, one of the first years making her collegiate debut, took on Madyson Schreiber in #1 singles. Schreiber picked up the 6-0, 6-0 win.
- Eubank and Dobert dropped their matches at #2 and #3, respectively, by the same 1-6, 0-6 score.
-
Isabelle Ingwerson, playing #4, fell to Bea Niyibizi 1-6, 3-6.
-Hollins' only win came at the #5 spot where
Carlia Kearney took a straight set win, 6-4, 6-2, over Nya Reed.
-Jessica Fuentes of Guilford took down
Emily Jones in a competitive 6-3, 6-4 match at #6 to finish out the match.

Claire Guill took on Alys Parker in an exhibition match with Parker picking up the 8-3 win.
Hollins will be back in action tomorrow against Emory & Henry. First match is slated to start at 1 pm.
