Sesker's Career-High in Kills Paces HU to a 3-1 Win Over Christendom

The Lead: Behind a career-high 22 kills from Tyler Sesker, Hollins topped Christendom 3-1 Saturday afternoon in non-conference volleyball action.

Highlights
  • Sesker had 22 kills on 36 attempts and had just three errors for a .528 hitting percentage. Deanna Kee also had 14 kills and Selena Wolfe added eight for Hollins which hit .241 for the match.
  • Hannah Crum (25) and Zoe Brooks (21) combined for 46 assists in the win, while Crum recorded four service aces as well.
  • Defensively, four different HU players notched double-figures in digs led by Zoe Miranda who had 20. Kenna Esquibel had 19, Aden Watts chipped in with 16 stops and Kee added 10 to record a double-double.
  • Christendom was paced by Claire Mense who had a team best 10 kills, while Fiona Briggs had 21 digs.
  • In game one, HU hit .368, notching 15 kills on 38 attempts with just one error. The score was 14-14 before a Watts kill would spark a 10-2 run to close the game out for the Green & Gold.
  • Christendom jumped out a 12-3 lead in game two with eight of those point coming via service aces. HU cut lead to 21-17 late, but Christendom scored four of the final six points to secure the game.
  • Game three saw Hollins hit .333, registering 17 kills on 42 attempts with just three errors to go up 2-1 in the match.
  • Game four featured 11 ties and six lead changes. An attacking error by HU game Christendom a 24-22 advantage. A ball handling error by Christendom and then back-to-back kills by Kee and Sesker put HU up 25-24. Hollins then took advantage of a Christendom hitting error to win the game and the match.
