Tennis Drops Competitive Match to Va. Wesleyan

ROANOKE, Va. - The Hollins tennis team continued their home stand on Sunday, falling in a tough, but competitive, 9-0 decision to Virginia Wesleyan. 

The #1 doubles team of Sarah Snoddy and Aleaha Stout took the opening point off the Marlins but ultimately fell 8-1. 

In singles, Kateri Johnson dropped a 6-0, 6-2 decision to Christine Zalameda, bringing multiple points to deuce before the loss. Juliette Baek played her best match of the young season in #2 singles, losing 6-2, 6-1 to Alexa Brewster. Snoddy, playing in her first match of the season, picked up a pair of game wins in her two set loss as well. 

The loss drops Hollins to 0-5, 0-2 ODAC on the season.

What's Next

Hollins will have a week off before welcoming Guilford to the Batten Tennis Center next Sunday for an ODAC matchup. First serve is scheduled for 1 pm.
