Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. - It wasn't exactly the storybook ending the Hollins basketball team was hoping for.
After falling behind 22-2 after the first quarter, in which their only points came on a pair of Keenan Surles free throws, Hollins wasn't able to stop Lynchburg's fast paced offense as eighth-seeded U of L knocked off ninth-seeded Hollins 84-32.
Highlights
-Hollins had one of their worst shooting performances of the season as they shot just 20% from the field and 15% from behind the arc.
-No HU player was in double figures as Lenah Clements led the way with nine points, five of which came in the fourth quarter.
-Lynchburg was on fire from the field, finishing the game shooting 61% (33-54) total and 63% 10-16) from three. Lynchburg also outrebounded the Green and Gold 50-17.
-The Hornets outscored Hollins 42-14 in the paint.
-Kayla Surles, who finished second in the ODAC in PPG for the season, had just four points on 1-18 shooting.
What's Next
This loss ends the season for Hollins, who finished with 11 wins, which was the second most in team history. With just one senior on this year's squad, the Green and Gold will return a strong group of performers for the 2020-2021 season and will look to make a deep run to Salem.
