Event: Swimming - Hollins at Emory & Henry tri-meet (Hollins, Roanoke, E&H) (Emory, VA)
The lead: The Hollins swim team took to the pool one last time before the Thanksgiving holiday. The Green and Gold would travel to Emory & Henry to compete in a tri-meet with the Wasps and Roanoke College.
The result: Roanoke 197-53, Emory & Henry 107-106
How it happened: Hollins would battle the Maroons and Wasps in a 14 event meet. In the opening relay, Hollins would post a third place finish. On the evening, Hollins would see a first, four runner-up, and a trio of third place efforts in the 12 individual events.
Hollins notes:
- Hollins lone first place finish would be recorded by Hanna DeVarona in the 50 Breaststroke. The sophomore would add a runner-up effort in the 100 Breaststroke.
- Maya Schattgen would secure second place points in the 100 Butterfly and the 50 Butterfly while finishing third in the 100 Freestyle.
- In the Backstroke events, Emily Miehlke would earn a second in the 50 and a third in the 100.
- Molly Sullivan represented Hollins in the 800 Freestyle, finishing third.
- Miehlke, DeVarona, Schattgen, and Sullivan posted a third place effort in the 200 Medley Relay
What's next: Hollins will travel to Ashland, VA to compete in the Yellow Jacket Invitational (hosted by Randolph-Macon) in two weeks.
